Swing Temple of Laddu Gopala
Swing Temple of Laddu Gopala

This sculpture is a complete mini temple in itself, sculpted with three kinds of materials of brass, copper and wood. Laddu Gopala who sits on the small swing is made in fine copper. Laddu Gopala is the baby form of Lord Krishna and for those who worship this deity, he is like a family member to them. This crawling posture of Bala Gopala holds a significant story; when Raghunandan (son of Kumbandasa; worshipper of Krishna) offered laddu bhog to the deity, he always appeared in the form of a baby to eat it and this scene was once witnessed by Kumbandasa and he immediately fell on his feet, hence Krishna froze in this pose with one laddu in hand and one in mouth, thereby calling him Laddu Gopala.

The dark chocolate-colored slabs in this sculpture are made of wood while the complementing yellow gold patterns of flowers and birds on the rectangular pedestal and beautiful flowers on the drawer are made of brass. The stylized arch is sculpted in charming ethnic patterns with the two peacocks standing on either side of the slant accompanied by layers of coils forming a traditional designed boundary to the arch. The ghunghroos hung on the top and at the base along with the temple bell at the top generate an aura of spirituality and beauty to it.

The small brass chain attached to Laddu Gopala’s swing allows it to move to and fro; the drawer helps you keep Laddu Gopala’s dresses and various other temple accessories. This swing temple of Laddu Gopala is a full-fledged set to worship this baby deity.

Lord Perumal - Vishnu with Garuda and Hanuman Ji Lost-Wax Panchaloha Bronze

This exquisitely remarkable and stunning creation from the region of Swamimalai truly awes the viewer, whether for its artistic presence or religious sentiment. This skillful work of art truly encapsulates how a god’s image, or its ‘murti,’ rivets the devotee to the ground, making him lose his material bondings and wholeheartedly devote his life to the service of this benevolent and majestic deity. This is the grand Perumal bronze statue , which is but the South Indian manifestation of the powerful Hindu god, Vishnu. Presented in the most painstakingly fine detailing, the central image is that of the great preserver in the triad of the powerful ‘Trimurti.’ Vishnu’s body, immaculately created, stands in the ‘abhyanga’ posture, deep in thought. His standing presence has four hands, which carry his iconic attributes – the ‘Sudarshana chakra’ or war discus, the conch ‘Panchajanya,’ his mace ‘Kaumodaki,’ and the ‘Padma’ lotus flower. Breathtakingly presented, every little detail signifies t...

Sthanak Lord Vishnu Madhuchista Vidhana Lost-Wax Panchaloha Bronze from Swamimalai

According to the Siddhartha-Samhita, there are twenty-four avatars of Lord Vishnu . The Trimurti is a concept in Hinduism in which the cosmic functions of creation, maintenance, and destruction are personified by Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer or transformer. His four arms indicate his all-powerful and all-pervasive nature. The conch ( Panchajanya) symbolizes that Vishnu is the Divine sound of creation and continuity. The Chakra, "Sudarshana", symbolizes the purified spiritualized mind and represents the destruction of the ego. A mace or Gada, "Kaumodaki" symbolizes that Vishnu's divine power is the source of all spiritual, mental, and physical strength. A lotus or Padma symbolizes that God is the power and source from which the universe and the individual soul emerge.
