Gautam Buddha Brass Statue Preaching Under Bodhi Tree
Preaching Gautam Buddha Brass Statue

Gautam Buddha, the first to attain Buddhahood, is the founder of Buddhism, primarily followed only by the people of Tibet, but now it is popularly revered all over the world. This Buddha brass statue is a representation of his state where he teaches his followers the ways to achieve enlightenment. Lord Buddha sits in a lotus posture on an elongated lotus plinth, carved in a beautiful double layer of petals all around. The glossy golden hue highlights the inner beauty of Buddha enriching his sharp and soothing features. Buddha’s left-hand holds a pot, which identifies him as the head of the order and right reaches high near his chest with the palm facing outwards in vitarka mudra.

This mudra symbolizes the transmission of dharma to his disciples, creating an uninterrupted flow of wisdom through the circle formed by the thumb and index finger. The leaf-shaped backdrop is the divine Bodhi tree, under which Lord Buddha would sit and meditate to attain enlightenment. If you will zoom in to the image of the Bodhi tree, you will get to know the laborious time and perfection taken by the carver to carve out each petal in accurate size, shape, and direction and small flowers that bloom at the edges.

The most interesting part of this Buddha brass sculpture is that this Bodhi tree backdrop is detachable, thus you can keep this brass statue in two different forms, with or without the backdrop.

Buddha’s robe is carved in a simple and sober style, having just a thin decorated border, but still what attracts are the smooth and sharp curves carved as if done naturally to create this Buddha statue. The high-browed half-open eyes, sleek and sharp nose, gentle smiling lips, and elongated ears are sculpted with utmost perfection, clearly expressing his innate emotions and his princely birth.

Lord Perumal - Vishnu with Garuda and Hanuman Ji Lost-Wax Panchaloha Bronze

This exquisitely remarkable and stunning creation from the region of Swamimalai truly awes the viewer, whether for its artistic presence or religious sentiment. This skillful work of art truly encapsulates how a god’s image, or its ‘murti,’ rivets the devotee to the ground, making him lose his material bondings and wholeheartedly devote his life to the service of this benevolent and majestic deity. This is the grand Perumal bronze statue , which is but the South Indian manifestation of the powerful Hindu god, Vishnu. Presented in the most painstakingly fine detailing, the central image is that of the great preserver in the triad of the powerful ‘Trimurti.’ Vishnu’s body, immaculately created, stands in the ‘abhyanga’ posture, deep in thought. His standing presence has four hands, which carry his iconic attributes – the ‘Sudarshana chakra’ or war discus, the conch ‘Panchajanya,’ his mace ‘Kaumodaki,’ and the ‘Padma’ lotus flower. Breathtakingly presented, every little detail signifies t...

Sthanak Lord Vishnu Madhuchista Vidhana Lost-Wax Panchaloha Bronze from Swamimalai

According to the Siddhartha-Samhita, there are twenty-four avatars of Lord Vishnu . The Trimurti is a concept in Hinduism in which the cosmic functions of creation, maintenance, and destruction are personified by Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer or transformer. His four arms indicate his all-powerful and all-pervasive nature. The conch ( Panchajanya) symbolizes that Vishnu is the Divine sound of creation and continuity. The Chakra, "Sudarshana", symbolizes the purified spiritualized mind and represents the destruction of the ego. A mace or Gada, "Kaumodaki" symbolizes that Vishnu's divine power is the source of all spiritual, mental, and physical strength. A lotus or Padma symbolizes that God is the power and source from which the universe and the individual soul emerge.
